Every foreign resident aged 40 or above who has registered as an alienmust enroll in the nursing care insurance, when living in Japan for more than one year or anticipating of living in Japan formore than one year due to his or her actual living
situation.
The nursing care insurance is a system by which the community provides care and services to elderly people to live an independent life even if they are in need of care and support in their daily life. When you enroll in the nursing care insurance,
you are obligated to pay insurance premiums.
At the same time, you are entitled to receive care and services.
